Es la segunda vez que participa en esa secci\u00f3n, un logro que en Colombia solo hab\u00eda alcanzado antes Sim\u00f3n Mesa Soto.<span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p data-end=\"716\" data-start=\"322\">Theo Montoya lleg\u00f3 a Cannes con una pel\u00edcula pr\u00e1cticamente reci\u00e9n terminada. \u201cLa acabamos hace quince d\u00edas\u201d, cuenta el director colombiano durante una conversaci\u00f3n en el March\u00e9 du Film, el pasado 19 de mayo. <em data-end=\"546\" data-start=\"530\">Pelot\u00f3n Trueno<\/em>, una coproducci\u00f3n entre Colombia y Francia, forma parte este a\u00f1o de la Competencia Oficial de Cortometrajes del Festival de Cannes. <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1059\" data-start=\"718\">Con esta selecci\u00f3n, Montoya entra por segunda vez a la competici\u00f3n oficial de cortos del festival, despu\u00e9s de <em data-end=\"842\" data-start=\"828\">Son of Sodom<\/em> en 2020. Hasta ahora, el \u00fanico colombiano que hab\u00eda conseguido regresar dos veces a esa secci\u00f3n era Sim\u00f3n Mesa Soto, seleccionado con <em data-end=\"984\" data-start=\"977\">Leidi<\/em> \u2014Palma de Oro al Mejor Cortometraje en 2014\u2014 y posteriormente con <em data-end=\"1058\" data-start=\"1051\">Madre<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1272\" data-start=\"1061\">La nueva pel\u00edcula naci\u00f3 inicialmente como una derivaci\u00f3n de su pr\u00f3ximo largometraje. \u201cEn un inicio ni iba a hacer un corto\u201d, explica. \u201cEra un poco el teaser de la pel\u00edcula\u201d. <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1668\" data-start=\"1274\">Ese futuro proyecto se desarrolla en la ruralidad colombiana y marca un desplazamiento frente a las obras anteriores del cineasta. \u201c<em data-end=\"1416\" data-start=\"1406\">Anhell69<\/em> y <em data-end=\"1433\" data-start=\"1419\">Son of Sodom<\/em> fueron pel\u00edculas de Medell\u00edn, cartas de amor o desamor hacia mi ciudad\u201d, afirma. \u201cEsta pel\u00edcula sucede en la ruralidad de Colombia, en pueblos olvidados, poco documentados por el cine colombiano\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1668\" data-start=\"1274\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/img\/a\/AVvXsEgKOgnXSgBQSjuQJFm23ww0VvoUaxThizHIOcRbSuIX7zj92SwaVTQm_iQm42aPGGyPvzmtbflmswkkcneok3i0IuVI4mf_A58qOXreny6598Img2nwA95WzY1G_WYZCtJSa7VYdwOj2zDxsW-Xw48LBaZtrZotAp72cyHE2AfKu_HR_mFjTBlkBSe1Wco\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" data-original-height=\"439\" data-original-width=\"333\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tegustamuchoelcine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-eabe5984eb9d091ecc6ebe1fa56ef4ef.png\" width=\"485\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1995\" data-start=\"1670\">La historia de <em data-end=\"1701\" data-start=\"1685\">Pelot\u00f3n Trueno<\/em> transcurre en una finca tropical donde un grupo de soldados celebra su salida del ej\u00e9rcito. \u201cSon unos soldados que est\u00e1n haciendo una fiesta porque acaban de dar de baja\u201d, relata Montoya. \u201cY en medio de esa fiesta aparece una tormenta tropical con rayos\u201d. <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2464\" data-start=\"1997\">La conversaci\u00f3n deriva r\u00e1pidamente hacia las condiciones del cine colombiano. Montoya insiste en que el reconocimiento internacional no responde \u00fanicamente al talento o al esfuerzo. \u201cNo creo que sea la cotidianidad de ning\u00fan pa\u00eds que sea tan f\u00e1cil\u201d, dice sobre la presencia colombiana en grandes festivales. \u201cHay algo de suerte\u201d. Luego a\u00f1ade, entre risas: \u201cQuiero creer que soy una persona con suerte. Me gusta jugar la loter\u00eda\u201d. <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"2787\" data-start=\"2466\">Aunque reconoce que existe \u201cmucha atracci\u00f3n por el cortometraje colombiano\u201d, tambi\u00e9n advierte sobre los l\u00edmites del sistema de financiaci\u00f3n audiovisual en el pa\u00eds. \u201cLa infraestructura econ\u00f3mica y c\u00f3mo se financia el cine colombiano no est\u00e1 dando abasto para todo ese cine\u201d, sostiene. <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"3200\" data-start=\"2789\">En el caso de <em data-end=\"2819\" data-start=\"2803\">Pelot\u00f3n Trueno<\/em>, la pel\u00edcula se levant\u00f3 por fuera de los principales mecanismos p\u00fablicos de apoyo. \u201cLo producimos de una manera muy autogestionada\u201d, explica.
